BBC programm

Our teacher recommended to watch a programme called 'Music, Money and Hip Hop Honeys' presented by BBC. It was about how women are represented in the music video and how people accept this fact. Before we even planned the music video we learnt about the theory of Goodwin and voyerism in the music video. The programme investigated in more depth of how women are presented and how they are treated also the fact most of the women even don't get paid. However the girl presenter says that a woman want to suceed in this industry because it makes you feel special and you can get good money out of this. I want to relate this to voyeurism in the music video, men can cover themselves with clothes but when women artist are presented they have to show their flesh in order to attract people's attention. Even though we know this is wrong but we just accept it as it is because everyone else does. Our music video does not contain a lot of voyerism of the artist but we used editing techniques to make the audience feel it. Like using the peep hole to create awareness of the band, because creating voyeurism will make the audience to demand more.
